The 18th edition of our flagship competition, the William Greaves Trophy, came to another thrilling end last Thursday (26th March) at the MCC Academy, Lord’s, as previous runners up, Warren Junior School (Barking and Dagenham), went one step further to take glory.
After a finals day group stage that saw some big names drop out of contention, Warren Junior took on and beat West Lodge Primary (Harrow) before facing first time finalists Lady Margaret Primary (Ealing) in an exciting final.
Set 77 to win, Warren Jr got off to a shaky start losing early wickets and looking like they may full short. Having already retired on 15, star player, Mohammed, returned to the crease to exhibit more of his prestigious talent and guide Warren Jr to the win with jubilant scenes as the last run was scored.
In addition to the winners and runners up trophies, Finals Day also features individual awards for the day’s best players and a Spirit of Cricket award for the school that displayed the best sporting spirit.

This year’s competition featured over 150 schools and ran across 17 London boroughs. Rounds have been running since October 2025 and across 6 months were whittled down to the final 8 - a huge achievement for all of them!

Named in memory of William “Bill” Greaves, a founding trustee of CKC, the competition continues to champion inclusivity and opportunity in cricket.
