Bowl Out Racism
Workshops delivered: 60
Total sessions: 225
Bowl Out Racism is a campaign, led by Capital Kids Cricket, to eradicate racism and all forms of discrimination from cricket. Working with partners, those within and beyond the cricket family, the campaign will focus on education and raising awareness from grassroots to the professional arena.Ā
We want to make it clear that there is no place for Racism and Discrimination in our game and society. Todayās launch is focused on the drive within the game to come together and work with key partners to drive a collective enjoyment and respect for all to be able to celebrate playing the game by Bowling out Racism.
The campaign will focus on:
Education
Developing and delivering materials that can be used by teachers, parents, and coaches to educate children and young people about all forms of discrimination, what they are, and how they can help to eradicate them.
Raising Awareness
Understanding, embracing and celebrating different cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs
Respect
Using the āSpirit of Cricketā as a foundation, we will promote equality and respect both on and off the field of play.
Initiated in October 2021 and officially launched in January 2022, following Azeem Rafiqās testimony and the Yorkshire cricket racism scandal, our Bowl Out Racism Campaign aims to eliminate racism and all forms of discrimination from cricket and society as a whole. Using an approach built around education, awareness raising, and respect we are working towards the campaignās goals through running workshops for both children and adults at clubs, schools and within communities. Since the launch we have delivered 60 workshops at schools and clubs
